Bishop Paul will speak on two themes drawn from Scripture: Written That You May Believe (John 20) and Common Contending: Gafcon as a Fellowship for Orthodox Anglicans (Jude 1–4). These sessions will explore how faith in the risen Christ gives confidence to stand firm in truth and grace, and how global fellowship strengthens local witness in times of change and challenge.

𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙬𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙪𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙣 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚. Yet even in hardship the Church continues to grow. Across provinces 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙙𝙞𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙙, believers stand firm under pressure, and the gospel continues to bear fruit.

These are reminders that Christ’s Church is alive and advancing, not because of human strength but through the power of His Spirit at work among His people. The Anglican Communion, at its best, remains a truly global family of believers who share one faith, one Lord, and one mission to make Christ known.

Common Contending will be a time to reflect on this calling and to find encouragement together. As Anglicans we have much to be thankful for across our Communion and every reason to be hopeful for what God is doing among His people worldwide.
